Ahhhhhhhh, finally I had time to make a costume for myself now that I've graduated! This here is my Victorian lolita design. All you see was made by me except the petticoat. I had made one but I somehow lost it and didn't have the heart to make another, so I just bought one. I was inspired by fashion from the 1890s when I designed this, thus the poofy sleeves and velvet collar and hat. I wore it for the first time to the Los Angeles Cosplay Alliance's picnic on Saturday, April 16th. It was a splendid event and there were so many photos! I plan to wear this to Anime Expo this year! Hope to see you there at my artist's alley table!
Details
The dress is made of teal silk taffeta and a polyester brown lining. The blouse and ruffles are made of pima cotton which I dyed lavender myself. I dyed the ruffles specially so that it graduates from a pale lavender to a medium lavender which is the same color as the blouse. The hat and top collar are made of brown velvet with swiss satin ribbon. If you would like to know more about the dress' construction, please ask! :3
